Anyone Else Surprised by Turkey's Property Tax System?
So I just got my first annual property tax bill in Antalya and... well, it's not what I expected. The taxable value seems completely disconnected from what I actually paid for the place. My neighbor claims his valuation hasn't changed since 2015 despite prices doubling.
How does this valuation system actually work? And why does my friend in Istanbul pay half what I do for a similar-sized apartment? The municipality wasn't exactly helpful when I asked.
